The annual Secret Santa for Horse Rescues is our longest-running and most-beloved fundraiser and the perfect time to help horses in need and support your favorite rescue organizations!
The annual Secret Santa for Horse Rescues is our longest-running and most-beloved fundraiser and the perfect time to help horses in need and support your favorite rescue organizations! Horses from seven different rescues across the US have shared their letters to Santa, and you can help more than one rescue organization and more than one horse—the more the merrier! Even one gift—a financial contribution or the purchase of an item—makes a huge difference, especially this year, when our rescues are paying so much more to care for the horses! (And something fun...when you help one of the horses, you'll receive a personal thank you!)
For as little as $5 during the month of December, you can truly make the season brighter for the rescue organizations that give their hearts and souls to help horses in need.

How to Donate Items for Our Auctions
All of the items in our auctions have been donated by wonderful people just like you, so look around your home and donate new and gently used items to help horses in need! The items don’t have to be horse-related and their value is tax deductible. Use the form on our Contact page if you have any questions.
A few specifics:
- We are able to include items that are received up to three days before an auction begins, or we can reserve those items for an upcoming auction or fundraiser.
- If you want to support a specific rescue group, you can donate items to be used for only that group's auctions or fundraisers.
- If you are an artist or crafter and want to donate something you've created, you will be promoted on the Special Horses website, our social media pages, and any participating rescue group's social media pages.
Two ways to donate:
- You can send the item(s) to Special Horses, P.O. Box 23279, St. Louis MO 63156. Keep your postage payment receipt, as that counts as part of your tax-deductible donation.
- You can email information about the items (new or used, dimensions, color, material, value and starting bid, estimated shipping cost, etc.) and include two or three photos. We will include the items in our auction (or fundraiser) and when they are won, you will be responsible for packing and shipping the item to the winning bidder, and Special Horses will reimburse you for your shipping costs.
